Hypnotic??
Pair of eyes casting down, as if in a meditation state. Hypnotic enough to fall for, blazed and blessed. The eyes with answers for everything. These eyes at Bouddhanath Stupa seem to outstand the concrete 360 degree jungle around it, with a beauty and belief. The beauty of a medieval renaissance and the belief that the eyes enriched with spiritual aura guard the city of Kathmandu . I have sorry- questions for the belief side.

The eyes of Buddha as appeared in almost every depiction appears to be closed. The first thing that I have in my mind is, if Buddha really needs to see this materialist and artificial world, its definitely not a good idea for him to have his eyes open. He left the royal life and throne in the quest of something. Did he do that to now see this Kathmandu drown in the disbelief and hatred?

This city is a place where only greed to which everyone has agreed resides. In the dawn, his teachings start to be monetized and we celebrate with agony the joy of being his followers. why should and why would he now see this world of ours? After all he has all seeing power and I am sure he knows this city inside out. Rather than the physical eyes he should most likely prefer to use his ability of seeing the truth. The truth that this city is deluded by greed, hatred and ignorance.
He being a Buddha and having omniscience has convinced me that he is rather not watching the city. I wonder why he dwells in this city! Is he supposed to be wise?
